What to see in Manarola

Manarola

Manarola is one of the Cinque Terre framed by a scenic cliff that declines into delicate hills by the sea, a charming location that reveals itself like a painting on the coast of Liguria, a charming setting to be seen and immortalized in spectacular photos.

Manarola is one of the smallest but at the same time most visited villages on the coast, made up of narrow, cobblestone streets where time seems to stand still: dashed by typical local flavors and marked by steps that lose themselves in the greenery, paths carved into the cliffs and panoramic overlooks.

The terraced hills of Manarola are famous for the production of wine and extra virgin olive oil, fascinating plots crossed by monorails where the delicious Sciacchetrà, a full-bodied wine with an amber reflection, is produced.

• Via dell’Amore
The quintessential romantic route connecting Manarola to Riomaggiore, to be done as a couple or in a group, a compendium of all the beauty of Mediterranean flora and fauna. The Via dell’Amore will reopen in July 2024 after a complete securing of all its sections, the perfect opportunity to plan your next vacation at Vis a Vis hotel!
• Church of San Lorenzo
A Gothic-style structure of local sandstone, with a Baroque interior and a tall bell tower that served as a lookout point.
• Manarola Nativity Scene
The world’s largest nativity scene, visible from December to January on the hillside surrounding the village, a distinctive gem that attracts thousands of visitors each year.

Lacking a real beach, Manarola has several accesses to the sea that lead to natural pools among the steep cliffs: a small stretch of sand frames the ancient harbor, creating a corner full of charm and atmosphere.
