A unique excursion "off the beaten path" to discover the most authentic side of Italy

Fortresses of Sant'Anna

The Rocche di Sant’Anna can be reached via one of the most important paths in the area which allows for a unique excursion above Sestri Levante from a historical, panoramic and environmental point of view. Between enchanting evenings that begin with an aperitif, diving and swimming in the crystalline sea, and relaxing in the lush vegetation of the surroundings, half a day is dedicated to an immersive and evocative experience.

The trekking route is accessible to everyone and does not present particular critical points, it can be traveled on foot or by mountain bike: it is important not to forget the use of suitable shoes and a water bottle as there are no water sources along the stretch. You will walk along a suggestive and scenic loop above the Baia delle Favole until you reach the ancient ruins of Sant’Anna, what remains of the church of the same name dating back to the seventeenth century. p>

From here you will admire Sestri Levante from above thanks to the numerous panoramic points equipped with benches where you can enjoy stops and take selfies or souvenir photos, below you will stretch the jagged Ligurian coast with its urban centers and the clear sea that laps the beaches. The green Mediterranean vegetation will surprise you with characteristic flavors and smells while a gradual slope gently guides you toward the top of the route.

The Rocche di Sant’Anna proudly “looks” at the horizon through the arches and cracks in the walls that have remained intact today, a harmony of nature and architecture eroded by time from which to observe glimpses and corners of pure beauty. The coast stretches out in all its majesty both to the east and to the west like a spectacular poster full of colors and details. If the weather conditions are perfect, you can even see the evocating landscape of the Maritime Alps.

A very attractive walk for expert walkers and not, a destination not to be missed to spend a different day experiencing the most authentic natural side of Italy.
